How I Wear: Prada Gunmetal Boho Bag

How I Wear: Prada Gunmetal Boho Bag

In case you haven't heard: BIG is in again!
Since the past few years, my habit of hoarding tiny eeny meeny bags have done me no good since I am really a bag lady.
Hogging a load of stuff in my bag means I have been eyeing for spacious bags that fit the bill. Sometimes big doesn’t  necessarily need to translate as frumpy too and I have find myself warming up to the idea of voluminous bags. Take Bottega Veneta with their larger-than-life cross-body bags that are as fluffly as pillows or Givenchy which recently came up with sculpted shapes that would redefine the hobo silhouette to the 21st century.
Since I love all things vintage but with a modern flair as well, I decided to take on the challenge of dressing up with this handy shaped yet cool shoulder bag from Prada.
In a khaki-like military hue, this Prada bag’s star detail ; the metal clasp in this matte metallic style take center stage. Almost titanium like, very Y2K, but easily stylized with all the muted hues that are trending of today. Including effortlessly with suits, which is a hand-me-down Giorgio Armani suit from my husband (like 5 times wayyy to huge for me but baggy clothes are tres cool!!). The sheeny blue color ads to the contrast of khaki/silver bag against a casual (now it is) -looking suit.

Its serious, its all grown up ; but its ultra chic when paired with your most austere pieces of clothing.

I played along with the bag’s distinctive boho shape against a more, geometric-themed look.
Taking note of the bag’s unique hardware, I played along with my fave abaya and tweaked it as a dress. Complete with sculpted accessories to highlights its objet d’art aesthetic.

Dont get me wrong, I do love my colors. But you know how accessories make the look; and with this bag, I seem to be drawn to gunmetal hues, granite tones - therefore taking me to a gangster-type vibe, particularly from those old school cop-and-gangsters-Cantonese-movies from the late 80s and early 90s. Together with my hair pouf, I mashed several looks together from different eras to achieve that Lauren Bacall meets Tony Leung? At least that’s what I got 😂
Which one’s your fave look?? :)
